Position Summary
The Caregiver provides compassionate, non-medical in-home support to clients who need assistance with daily living activities. This role helps clients maintain independence, dignity, and
safety while remaining in their homes. Caregivers are responsible for delivering reliable care in accordance with individualized care plans and agency policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Personal Care Assistance
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including:
- Bathing and personal hygiene
- Dressing and grooming
- Toileting and incontinence care
- Mobility assistance and transfers
- Observe and report changes in client condition or behavior
Household Support
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as:
- Laundry
- Dishwashing
- Tidying client living areas
- Prepare simple meals and assist with feeding when needed
Companionship & Supervision
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Engage clients in conversation and activities
- Ensure client safety and supervision as required
Medication Support
- Provide medication reminders as directed in the care plan (Caregivers do not administer medications unless authorized by law and agency policy.)
Transportation & Errands
- Escort or transport clients to appointments, shopping, or errands as assigned
Documentation & Communication
- Complete accurate daily care notes and documentation
- Communicate promptly with the office regarding:
- Changes in client condition
- Safety concerns
- Schedule issues
- Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation immediately
Qualifications
- Compassionate, dependable, and professional demeanor
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in client homes
Preferred Experience
- Previous caregiving, home care, or healthcare experience
- Experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities
Required Certifications & Clearances
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Current auto insurance (if transporting clients)
- Ability to pass required background checks in accordance with state and agency requirements
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and assist with transfers
- Ability to perform duties in a variety of home environments
Work Schedule
- Shifts vary based on client needs and may include:
- Days, evenings, overnights
- Weekends and holidays

- Direct interaction with clients, families, and healthcare partners
